Registration & Teams

When does registration open? Registration opens before each season (spring, summer, fall) — current dates, rates, and the sign-up link are on the home page. Watch for announcements on Facebook and Instagram.

Can I request a specific team or coach? No — teams are assigned by MTL organizers after registration closes. Your child will play with the team they are assigned to.

Can siblings be on the same team? This is not guaranteed. Contact MTLsoccer@gmail.com if you have a specific concern.

Equipment & Uniforms

What does the coach provide? The coach provides a uniform (jersey, shorts, socks). For Little Kickers and 1st/2nd Grade, the coach also provides shin guards.

Do I need to buy cleats? Cleats are recommended but not required — sneakers are fine.

What size soccer ball does my child need? Size 3 or 4 for ages 4-8 (Little Kickers and 1st/2nd Grade). Size 4 or 5 for ages 8-12 (3rd-6th Grade).

Can we reuse last season’s uniform? Yes — the uniforms are the same as previous seasons. If you have the shorts, socks, and shin guards from last season, your child can wear those.

Game Day

What if it rains? Games are played in the rain. Only thunder, lightning, or unsafe field conditions will cancel a game. Cancellations are decided by MTL at the league level — individual coaches cannot cancel. MTL will try to email within 45 minutes of the session time.

Can my child wear a hat? No — baseball hats are not allowed during play for safety reasons (the brim can hit other children).

Can I bring my dog? No — dogs are not allowed on or around the field of play.

During the Season

My child can’t make a game — what do I do? Update your availability in TeamSnap so your coach knows.

I have a concern about a coach, player, or parent — who do I contact? Email MTLsoccer@gmail.com. All concerns are handled by the MTL Trustees.

I’d like to help — how do I volunteer? Email MTLsoccer@gmail.com. Coaches, referees, and general volunteers are always welcome — no prior experience required.
