How MTL Soccer Works
New to MTL Soccer? Here’s how the program works from registration to game day.
Registration
Registration opens before each season (spring, summer, fall). You’ll sign up through TeamSnap, which is the platform MTL uses to manage teams, schedules, and communication — Fall 2026 registration is open now.
Early-bird pricing is typically available for a limited window before the season starts — see the home page for current rates. Watch for announcements on Facebook and Instagram.

How Teams Are Built
After registration closes, MTL organizers assign players to teams. You’ll receive a TeamSnap invitation for your child’s team with your coach’s contact information.
- Teams are assigned by the league — you cannot request a specific team
- Coaches are volunteers, often parents from the team

Schedules & Time Slots
Game schedules are published in TeamSnap before the season starts. Your coach will share the schedule with the team.
How time slots work: our sites have several fields each, and depending on how many teams a division has, either every team plays at once or each field hosts two rounds — an earlier pair of teams, then a later pair. That’s why some divisions show a longer time window on the schedule: it has to hold both rounds.
If your division runs two rounds, expect to be invited to the earlier slot for about half your games and the later slot for the other half — one week your team might play at 12:15 pm and the next at 1:30 pm. Which teams land where is worked out close to the start of the season, once every team is accounted for, so always check TeamSnap for your upcoming game time.
The Season
A typical season runs 8-10 weeks. Each week:
- Little Kickers — about an hour, roughly half practice and half game
- 1st/2nd Grade — two 25-minute halves
- 3rd-6th Grade — two 25-minute halves; with enough teams, 3rd/4th ends the season with semi-finals and finals
